Why start a blog when blogging is dead? I know, it seems crazy but I missed having an online home and wanted to create a place to talk about things I am passionate about. Creating a meaningful life, even when things didn’t go as planned. Discovering God’s grace every day, which please tell me I’m not the only one here in need.
This last year has been a journey of redemption for me. God opened up doors I thought were long closed. Stories encourage us. I know when I hear how God is working in your life it keeps me going. As my friend, Lori said, “hearing your story gives me hope. If He did it for you, He will do it for me, because He loves me too.” Redemption comes in many forms and so many times not how we envision it. That is why I wanted to create this space, to share stories and give hope to each other. We need to share our stories.
I bought this name and site a few years ago, it is something that has been percolating for a bit. Redemption has been woven into my life. There have been times where I have been desperate to see God. Sometimes due to my own painfully bad choices, but other times because life can be hard, things happen, we get hurt or we hurt others.
Our souls are thirsty, we need to know that our lives matter. I hear stories of women struggling to find their way. Women who are still believing for more, even in the wilderness. Things deep in our heart we don’t feel comfortable sharing on our Instagram feeds. Sometimes, looking at other Instagram feeds makes us a little discouraged, envious even when it seems like everyone else is living their best life.
Comparison is our enemy. Nothing good comes from that.
At work, I oversee Small Groups and each week I meet people hungry to find community. It’s a thing, people are trying to find their place. It’s also not as easy to make happen as we would like.
After a health scare a few months ago, I decided my body needing redeeming too so I will be sharing the things I am doing to get healthier and stronger.
This space is a work in progress but I am trying to get over perfection and just get started, so here we go. You can read more about it here but of course, food will also be served here.
If you have a story to share or would like to contribute, please read our submission guidelines. Let’s find each other on Instagram and Facebook, the two places I engage in most. I look forward to seeing what God has planned.
